Development designs and develops assessment programs and services that assess what learners have achieved through various stages of education, K-16. The area also conducts research that involves innovative uses of technology in assessment, runs a scoring center where hundreds of thousands of performance assessments are scored each year, and maintains computerized item banks for all of the assessment programs developed in the area.
Research provides psychometric and statistical support for ACT programs and clients; conducts policy and validity research related to the uses and impact of our assessment programs; provides survey research services; prepares research summary reports for users; develops, validates, and supports uses of career assessment instruments; and coordinates several large contract projects.
Through marketing and customer service, Educational Services works to increase and facilitate the good use of ACT's programs and services by schools, colleges, associations, governmental departments and agencies, businesses, and the individuals they serve and employ.
