Six Northern California high school students were recognized by the San Francisco Giants and Jack OConnell, state superintendent for public instruction, for earning top scores of 36 on their ACT® test during the 200708 school year. Students received awards prior to the start of the May 13 game against the Houston Astros at AT&T Park in San Francisco. The students and their high schools are (from left to right): Malik Coleman, Las Lomas High School, Walnut Creek; Brianna Doherty, Rio Americano High School, Sacramento; Jeffrey W. Doong, Leland High School, San Jose; Toby Hammett, Sonoma Valley High School, Sonoma; and Casey McNamara, Los Gatos High School, Los Gatos.
