A Wisconsin high school student is the grand-prize winner in the 2008 ACT High School Poster Concept Contest.
Garrett Knoll of Oneida, a student at Ashwaubenon High School, won the top prize, a $5,000 college scholarship. His poster concept will serve as the basis for this years ACT poster.
Students in Florida, Oregon, Texas, and Wisconsin were challenged to develop a concept for a poster that encourages other students to take the ACT® and attend college.
From the original pool of nearly 200 entries, a panel of judges selected 10 finalists. Those entries were posted on the ACT student website, where visitors voted for their favorite. A second panel then chose the grand-prize winner and runners-up based on creativity, originality, visual appeal, and overall impact.
ACT intends to offer the contest nationwide in the future.
