Steve Robbins
Steve Robbins has been promoted to vice president of research within ACTs Education Division.
In this position, Robbins is responsible for overseeing and managing all research area activities and serving on ACTs education leadership team. He brings extensive expertise in counseling psychology, particularly education and career planning, and experience guiding ACTs research priorities. His previous roles at ACT include director of the career transitions research department and assistant vice president for applied research.
He has led the efforts to develop an aligned system of psychosocial and career assessments that helps promote education and workplace success. He is the author of the Personal Skill Assessments from WorkKeys Solutions, the High School and College Student Readiness Inventories, and a Career Fit Index. A nationally known scholar and researcher, Robbins has published more than 85 research studies.
Steve has provided strong content and management leadership to key areas of the research agenda, said Ranjit Sidhu, senior vice president of Research and Development at ACT. The work of the research area has always been a core foundation of our work, and were excited about the growing role played by ACT research in shaping the national dialogue around college and career readiness. Steves professional experience has prepared him well for this leadership role as he helps shape and guide the future direction of the research area.
Robbins earned a bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Illinois and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah. Prior to joining ACT, he was professor and chair of the psychology department at Virginia Commonwealth University.
