Head of Workforce Development Division Named

Michael EisensteinMichael Eisenstein has been named president and chief operating officer of ACT's Workforce Development Division. He oversees development, sales, and marketing of the company's workforce-related products. Eisenstein reports directly to ACT Chief Executive Officer and Board Chairman Richard L. Ferguson.

"In the last decade, ACT has firmly positioned itself as a leader in workforce productivity and development," said Ferguson. "Michael Eisenstein has a combination of experience and industry knowledge that will aid ACT tremendously in reaching its corporate goals."

Eisenstein brings 28 years of experience in professional and electronic publishing, e-learning, and assessment and testing curriculum to ACT. Previously, he was senior vice president of product and business development at Peterson's, a division of Thomson Learning, where he produced award-winning e-learning products for education markets. He also has held senior management positions at LexisNexis and the e-learning subsidiaries of several major universities, including Cornell. An attorney, Eisenstein practiced appellate law for more than 20 years and is a member of the federal and New York bar associations. He holds a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and a juris doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School. He and his wife, Robin, have two children, Melissa, 21, and Sherry, 16.
