Recognition Program Services Goes High Tech

Recognition Program Services addresses ACT’s mission of helping people achieve education and workplace success by providing program management services for organizations that offer a variety of award programs.

For more than 30 years, staff have provided expertise in the design and management of scholarship and recognition programs, tuition reimbursement programs, and loan origination programs. Among our current clients are the Alcoa Foundation, the Department of Education’s Presidential Scholars Program, KFC Colonel’s Scholars, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, and Wendy’s International.

In the past, the award process has typically been paper based, involving labor-intensive protocols for the receipt of documents, quality control, selection, and overall program management. Today, most clients have moved to Web-based application processes, making competitions—whether regional or national—less complicated and more accessible, and very cost-effective to administer.

“We are now in our second year of providing scholarships to under-advantaged kids using an online application. We recognize that using ACT’s Recognition Program Services continues to be an excellent decision,” said Cynthia Harbin, executive director, KFC Colonel’s Scholars.

Recognition Program Services designs and develops applications—either paper or online—for scholarships and other awards. Applications can be customized and unique to each client, providing high-quality service while controlling costs. New technologies allow even small programs to capitalize on Web-based delivery, meaning cost-effective management and a professional image. Staff can tailor programs to meet a client’s goals, whether they are related to scholarships, college admissions, loan origination, tuition reimbursement, grants, fellowships, and more.

“We are enthusiastic about the potential for helping all types of organizations get their figurative foot in the technology doorway without the hassle of software development, application hosting, software maintenance, or related compatibility issues,” said Anjanette Swingle, recognition program services director. “This access will continue to provide avenues of opportunity for clients where there might otherwise be none.”
