ACT’s SRI Aids Retention Among HAA Scholars

ACT administers its Student Readiness Inventory (SRI) to each Horatio Alger national scholar. The inventory, which is accessible in an online format via ACT’s website and is hand-scored by ACT researchers, gauges a student’s current readiness to succeed in college. Results allow the association to target problem areas and maintain college retention rates. Currently, about 70 percent of the students receiving the Horatio Alger scholarships complete college, compared to the national average of about 54 percent.
