Lionel Sosa founded Sosa, Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, (now Bromley Communications), one of the largest Hispanic advertising agencies in the United States. From 1995 until 2000, Sosa headed Garcia LKS, the southwests largest independent Hispanic advertising agency, founded by his wife and business partner, Kathy Sosa. From 1991 to 1995, he was chairman of DMB&B/Américas, a network of 23 ad agencies in the United States and Latin America with billings of $500 million. The agency represented such multinational clients as Coca-Cola, Burger King, Anheuser Busch, American Airlines, 23 Procter & Gamble brands, Western Union, and Sprint.
Currently, Sosa is a member of the board of regents of the Texas A&M University System and sits on the boards of the Childrens Television Workshop and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. He is a former vice-chairman of the board of trustees of the University of the Incarnate Word and has chaired both the United Way of San Antonio and the San Antonio Symphony. In the spring of 2001, Sosa was a fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University. He also was a media consultant for President George W. Bush in the 2000 campaign. He has been a media consultant in five Republican presidential campaigns since 1980.
