Stedman Graham Shares Thoughts on Diversity During Conference Held at ACT

For Stedman Graham, bestselling author, educator, and entrepreneur, true diversity is being able to transcend race, get beyond labels, and focus on the human spirit.

“Diversity is about building relationships,” said Graham. “It’s not about your race or your gender. It’s about trust, and your talent and ability to achieve based on performance, results, and actions.”

Graham, chairman and chief executive operating officer of S. Graham & Associates (SGA), was the keynote speaker September 19 for the “Diverse Paths, Shared Destinies Diverse Leadership” conference ACT sponsored in partnership with Diversity Focus, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing diversity in the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City area. As a businessman and educator, Graham lectures and conducts seminars for businesses and organizations around the country. He is the author of ten books including Diversity: Leaders Not Labels: A New Plan for the 21st Century, which shares his unique approach to eliminating barriers to success; and two New York Times bestsellers, You Can Make It Happen: A Nine-Step Plan for Success and Teens Can Make It Happen: Nine Steps to Success.
