The winners of the 2011 ACT English Language Contest in China visited ACT this past fall.
A group of ten students and their parents toured the ACT headquarters in Iowa City and met with staff from ACT and the Belin-Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development at The University of Iowa. During their week-long tour of the United States, the delegation also visited several Ivy League universities, including Columbia, Princeton, Harvard, and Yale.
The ACT Education Solutions office in Shanghai sponsors the ACT English Language Contest in China. The annual event offers Chinese students the opportunity to demonstrate their English speaking and comprehension skills. More than 100,000 contestants from 20 provinces participated at the 2011 regional-level competition. National media outlets in China broadcast the contest.
