Jim Larimore joined ACT in 2014 to lead initiatives focused on underserved learners, and now leads the ACT Center for Equity in Learning, launched in 2016.
A first-generation college graduate, Jim provides strategic direction for ACT’s commitment to close gaps in opportunity and achievement, and to improve learning so that all people can unlock and achieve their potential in school and the workplace.
Previously, Jim was deputy director of postsecondary success at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and served as chief student affairs officer at Amherst College, Dartmouth College, NYU Abu Dhabi, and Swarthmore College. Earlier in his career, he also served as assistant dean and director for the American Indian Program at Stanford University.
Jim has an MA in education from Stanford and a BS in criminal justice and sociology from Texas A&M University–Commerce. He is a PhD candidate in higher education and policy analysis at Stanford.
