Vice President, Strategic Marketing
John Wannemacher, a marketing leader in education technology, higher education, learning, and workforce, joined ACT in 2020 as vice president of strategic marketing.
He is responsible for managing the ACT brand, corporate communications, and portfolio strategy. In addition, John is also leading advocacy and enhancing thought leadership at ACT as it transforms to become a learning, measurement and navigation organization.
John brings over 20 years of experience in education. He previously led the marketing function and go-to-market strategy as CMO for a portfolio of SaaS educational technologies at EVC Ventures in Chicago. Prior to that, John served in senior-level marketing and strategy roles at Pearson Education and McGraw-Hill Publishing after beginning his career with Harcourt Brace Publishing.
He earned advanced certification in digital marketing from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and a BA in marketing management from Lander University. John also serves as an edtech mentor for education startups incubating at 1871 in Chicago.
