Roorda Receives Testing Industry Achievement Award

ACT CEO Marten Roorda has received the Professional Contributions and Service to Testing Award from the Association of Test Publishers (ATP), a global association representing providers of tests and assessment tools and/or services related to assessment.

The award—presented during the ATP Innovations in Testing 2016 conference March 21-22 in Orlando, Florida—honors individuals who have made a positive impact on the industry of testing through professional contributions and service.

According to the ATP, “applied and professional contributions may include sustained leadership in the testing industry and professional contributions through presentations and service that have improved testing. They may also include contributions that have improved the applications of testing, influenced professional standards and practices, and increased public understanding of testing, advocacy, or other relevant contributions to the industry and profession.”

Roorda’s award recognizes his leadership and achievements at ACT and in his prior roles with Cito, Kryterion, and OAT Technologies. His lengthy affiliation with the ATP includes a keynote speech in 2004 (where he shared his future vision of testing), chairmanship in 2010, and service as treasurer from 2012 through 2015. He has been a member of the ATP board of directors for 10 years
