Career Programs Assessment Test

The Career Programs Assessment Test (CPAt) from ACT includes measures for assessing the entry-level skills of students planning to attend career schools and colleges.

Developed by ACT with help from career college representatives, the program addresses the specific challenges these schools face in educating today's students.

What the Program Tells You

CPAt provides a cost-effective set of tests to measure basic skills in:

  • Reading
  • Numerical Skills
  • Language Usage

CPAt scores can be used to evaluate students' readiness to work at the level required to successfully complete their programs of study.

The system also collects useful demographic and local information to help meet research and marketing needs.

Schools can also find out which students need assistance in other important areas, such as locating child care, applying for financial aid, getting study skills help, or obtaining additional training in math or reading. By offering assistance in these critical areas, schools can help ensure students' overall success.
