Using CPAt's local interest questions, schools can collect information on specific issues of interest to them.
CPAt users may include up to 10 local interest questions, each with a single response, to be answered by students either before or after regular CPAt testing.
The local interest questions allow schools to:
- Gather information about student needs, future plans, and potential challenges
- Qualify students for particular programs or services
- Develop marketing information
The process is easy:
- School personnel create 10 questions and response choices on any word processing program.
- Test proctors hand out laminated copies of the questions before or after the regular CPAt testing session, instructing students to fill in their responses in the "local items" section in the middle of the answer sheet.
- ACT will tabulate the results of the local interest questions for no additional charge. This is one of the services we provide to CPAt users.
- The results will appear in the school's Annual Summary Report.
For ideas about how to use local items, see these Examples of Local Questions.
