Sports and Outdoor Recreation

Rolling countryside, excellent state parks, and the Iowa River offer many opportunities for outdoor recreation.
The 5,300-acre Coralville Reservoir, with 25,000 acres of surrounding woodlands, provides camping sites, hiking trails, water skiing, fishing, motor boating, swimming, and picnic facilities.
The adjoining Lake Macbride is ideal for canoeing, kayaking, and sailing.
In winter, cross-country skiing and ice skating are favorite activities.

The area offers Big Ten sports events, organized athletic activities for all ages, and more than 30 miles of hiking and biking trails that connect neighboring communities.
Iowa also is a golfer's mecca, with more courses per capita than any other state, many of them both affordable and top rated.
