IOWA CITY, IowaACT has announced the completion of the revised and expanded CAREERskills A+ curriculum to meet the requirements of the fall 2003 update to CompTIA's A+ certification exams.
The CAREERskills A+ curriculum consists of texts, lab manuals, e-learning courseware, instructor kits, student kits, video lectures and practice exam software. All components have been revised and expanded to include Windows XP, Serial ATA, wireless, and other new technologies that will appear in the new CompTIA A+ exams.
CAREERskills provides resources to teachers to help them prepare their students for certification in various information technology (IT) fields. The first offering, CAREERskills A+, was released in early 2003 and focuses on computer hardware and operating systems in preparation for CompTIA A+ certification.
CAREERskills includes a comprehensive, blended curricular system designed to help instructors in high schools and postsecondary institutions teach core computer skills and prepare students for careers in information technology. Components include a CD-based instructor pack, which includes course outlines, PowerPoint presentations, an image bank and test bank with more than 600 practice exam items.
The CAREERskills A+ curriculum is based on the CompTIA Authorized Quality Curriculum, authored by certification trainer Michael Meyers. He also wrote the best-selling "All-in-One A+ Certification Exam Guide," as well as the IT career development book series "Mike Meyers Certification Passport" and "Mike Meyers Computer Skills."
