IOWA CITY, IowaACT announced today it will deliver web-based exams to people seeking National Inspection Testing Certification (NITC), which tests and certifies personnel in the plumbing, piping, HVACR and related industries. The exams will be delivered through the nationwide network of ACT Centers. NITC is an internationally recognized third-party personnel certification agency. It is accredited by the American National Standards Institute.
ACT Centers offer seven certification exams covering professions such as plumbing inspector and journeyman plumber, as well as various mastery-level certifications for HVACR, plumbing, pipefitting and fire sprinkler fitting. ACT Centers will also offer medical gas and instrument technician certification in the near future. Web-based testing allows certification-seekers to take proctored exams across the country at 225 ACT Center locations, flexible test scheduling and instant scoring. The first exams will be administered early this year.
"In today's fast-paced world, workers need to find convenient testing centers for certification, and ACT provides them," said Mike Massey, executive vice president of NITC. "Contractors and inspectors will also find that taking certification examinations at ACT Centers is easy and quick."
