ACT is proud to honor a distinguished group of students, schools and employers as semifinalists for ACT’s National College and Career Readiness Awards. These individuals and organizations are celebrated for being exemplars of college and career readiness.
The national campaign is an ongoing partnership among ACT and a growing number of participating states, this year including Alabama, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota and Wisconsin. The campaign’s goal is to bring attention to the hard work and exceptional achievements of education leaders, top employers and students. Nominated students in each participating state, regardless of semifinalist status, receive an academic scholarship from ACT.
“We appreciate the opportunity we’ve been given to work with these states, which show an impressive commitment to improving the lives of their students and workers,” said Scott Montgomery, ACT’s vice president for policy, advocacy and government relations. “State leaders should be very proud of the students, employers and schools they’ve identified, who have defied expectations and made remarkable strides to improve academic achievement and professional advancement across their states.”
The national semifinalists were selected from nominations by each of the participating states across four award categories: Workplace Success (employer), Career Preparedness (community college), College and Career Transition (high school), and Student Readiness (student).
