- Emphasize to your teen the importance of taking "college prep" courses—at least
- four years of English
- three years each of mathematics (algebra or higher), natural sciences,
and social sciences
- Share ACT's list of recommended high school courses with your son or daughter
- Help your teen identify and strengthen academic areas that need improvement
- Find out how much college costs (the cost of tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, transportation, and other personal expenses)
- Continue/start saving for college
- Consider visiting a financial advisor for help structuring your college savings
