Measuring Effectiveness
Postsecondary institutions are increasingly called to document their progress and effectiveness in achieving their mission and goals. Institutions must take steps to:
- Systematically measure students' achievement levels and growth in general education
- Meet accreditation self-study requirements
- Satisfy the need for greater accountability in higher education
- Evaluate individual student readiness for upper-division coursework
- Evaluate student and alumni attitudes toward institutional programs and services
