Time to Study

The past few weeks have been pretty crazy and stressful for me. I just recently adjusted to my new schedule and then it was time to take our 9 weeks exams. This means I have been studying like crazy these past few weeks. Because of so many new classes and my increased homework load I have had to come up with a new studying technique to help balance my activities with my school work. I have had to sacrifice little things that I want to do so I can complete what needs to be done like chores and homework. Continue reading

Make the Most of It

Work, work, work… That is all I have been doing now that school has started.  I thought my senior year of high school was going to be fun but, it sure doesn’t look like it’s going to be that way for me.  This year my school has decided to make a drastic change to our schedules.  We changed from having four 90-minute class periods each semester, to EIGHT!  Continue reading

Summer — So Far, So Good

Hi everyone! I hope your summer has been as peaceful and relaxing as mine has been so far. My summer highlight would have to be going to Samford University for “Super Summer Alabama,” a Bible camp where I met and made lots of new friends. I am already excited about going back next year! Other than this trip, I have been hanging out with my friends by the pool or going to work. Continue reading

My ACT Testing Experience

“The ACT” … just saying this phrase sounds intimidating and can strike fear into the hearts of the most confident of students. In reality, it can be intimidating IF you overanalyze it. Obviously, everyone wants to get the best score they can when taking this test because it is one of the key factors in determining if they can get into the college they want. Doing well on the ACT can also help you earn scholarships, so it has to be taken seriously. I personally have taken the ACT twice, and I definitely took it much more seriously the second time. I worked to prepare the first time, but I went into the first test with no personal experience of what to expect. While I did OK, I knew I could do better. Continue reading

Choosing the Right College

Hello everyone! I enjoyed writing my last blog with some tips for you to consider when taking the ACT, but now it’s time to focus on a different subject—choosing the right college. Choosing the right college may be the first or second toughest decision you will have to make during this process, equivalent to the decision of selecting your major. Both decisions have so many variables and options that it can be overwhelming at times. My choices and “wish list” are going to be completely different from anyone else’s because we are all unique. ACT Prepping

Hello again! I hope you guys enjoyed my previous thoughts and comments as much as I enjoyed writing them for you in my last blog . . ., but now it’s time to get down to business and talk a little about ACT prep. Currently, I am planning on taking the ACT on April 13. In preparation for this test, I decided to take an ACT prep class that is offered at my school. This class has helped me prepare for the ACT in ways that I could never imagine. This class is nine weeks long and it has taught me so much about the ACT in such a short amount of time. I understand that some people who have taken this prep class have seen their ACT scores shoot up 2 to 3 points!  Continue reading
