These past two years have been very eventful and stressful. It has been hard juggling my schoolwork, advanced classes, ACT prep and testing, track, after school activities, college visits, and college applications. I feel like I have not had a moment to relax. I look back and remember how hard I worked to be sitting where I am right now. I am a senior with her college applications sent out. I am happy that all of the hard work I put into my schoolwork has paid off. But I am sad that my four-year journey through high school will be ending so soon. These four years have flown by. I remember being a freshman like it was yesterday. I am happy though that I will be heading off to college to start a new chapter in my life.
Next year I will be attending the University of Notre Dame in Indiana where I will pole vault on the track and field team. I am so excited to go off to college. I must admit, though, I am also very nervous. I know that my workload will be challenging and I will have a very busy schedule with track, but I look forward to meeting new people and making new friends. Plus, I cannot wait to go dorm- room shopping. Also, it will take some time adjusting to being 13 hours from home. For starters, I need to learn how to do my own laundry before I leave!
I know that early decision and early action acceptance letters have been sent out or are being sent out soon, and I wish everyone who applied early and regular decision the best of luck! A lot of my friends are receiving college letters right now. Getting accepted into college is the perfect holiday present! I feel like such a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that I know for sure I am going to the college of my dreams next year.
At this point I look forward to finishing my senior year. I think that my stress level will be a lot lower now that I do not have to worry about college applications on top of all of my schoolwork. I plan to keep working hard at school and track; but I also know that now I have more time to relax and hang out with my friends.
I am looking forward to winter break and spending time with my family. I cannot wait to have a week off from school, and hopefully my teachers will not give me a lot of homework over vacation. I wish everyone the best of luck with college and hope that everyone has a happy holiday.
My life has been normal and uneventful; not much is going on. I just have my schoolwork and track to focus on. I am looking forward to Christmas break because school has been really challenging and I need a break from it. Many people who applied to college early action will be finding out if they were accepted. I wish all of you who applied early action good luck. Being accepted would be the ultimate holiday present.
At the moment I feel pretty relaxed. I lost a lot of stress once I sent out my college applications. School is going really well. I have a lot of work to do, but I have been handling it well. Plus, track is in full swing and I am having a lot of fun. My life has become a lot less hectic since I applied to colleges. I am happy that I have more time to do fun things, now that I’m done with my college application work.
I am so happy that I have sent out my college applications. Now the hard part comes—waiting for acceptance letters! I am trying not to worry about it too much because it is out of my hands now. Plus, I have many things going on to distract me. Between school and indoor track starting, I have been very busy. I am just happy that I don’t have to fill out any more college applications or write any more college essays!
This week I’ll be sending in my college applications. I have all of the necessary paperwork filled out and ready to go. I used the online Common Application and it has been a very easy process. After I submit my electronic application, I also have items that my guidance counselor has to send to the college—my letters of recommendation and my transcript. It is important to talk to your guidance counselor once you’ve sent your application electronically, because there are other items that colleges need to see that can’t be submitted electronically.
I am so excited for Thanksgiving; I get a well-needed break from school and both of my sisters are coming home. Between schoolwork and college applications, I have been feeling very stressed lately and I cannot wait to have a few days off from school. I plan on relaxing, enjoying time with my family, and hopefully not doing a lot of homework. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I am happy to announce that I finally completed my Common Application. It is completely filled out, including the essay and the supplements for specific colleges. It feels so great to have the application completed. Now all I have to do is send it! I am still very close with my school counselor and he has been helping with this process. I would not have been able to do it without him. If you have not completed your application, make sure you are working on it because deadlines are rapidly approaching.
Track starts after Thanksgiving and I cannot wait. I know it’s going to be hard adjusting to staying after school every day. I will really have to work on my time management skills because I am used to coming home after school and getting my work done then. I am excited to get started with track though. I cannot believe that this will be my last season of high school indoor track; hopefully it will be a great season!
I am well into my senior year and I am happy to say that school is going very well. My marking period grades just came out and I am doing very well in all of my classes. It is a good feeling to know that all of my hard work is paying off. Also, I am happy that colleges will see these grades when I apply, and it is good for colleges to know that I am working hard and challenging myself in my courses. I just have to keep working hard and trying my best.
Indoor track is starting soon and I am very excited. I have had plenty of time to adjust to school and my workload and I am excited to compete again. Now I will really have to stay on top of my work and get ahead when I can because I will be staying after school every day for track. I think doing track keeps me more organized, because I know I have to do assignments in advance and so I tend to be more on top of my work. I will really need to manage my time even more, if that is possible!
