Introducing Isabella
Welcome readers! My name is Isabella and I will be sharing my journey through high school and the transition into college with all you lovely people. I am here to help you make the most out of your high school experience, and to help make applying to universities and studying for the ACT less stressful. I go to a public high school in Arizona and I am a free-spirited seventeen-year-old. I just began the second semester of my junior year and—now more than ever—I need to focus and prepare for what comes next. Now is the time to work extra hard, study for the ACT, do volunteer work, and look into preferred colleges and universities, of course!
A little tidbit about me: I am a quirky person and I take part in several school activities. At school I am in Thespian Honor Society for theatre and I am also in International club. I dance in the dance program at my high school, as well as out of school. Along with those, I have a passion for photography and theatre and was a former writer for azTeen Magazine. Outside of school I take part in the “Be A Leader Foundation” and do community service.
My junior year schedule consists of core class such as honors chemistry, honors English III, algebra II. A sprinkle of classes I am interested in appear on my schedule as well including advanced acting, dance, biotechnology, and AP psychology. Next week I will meet with my school counselor to register for classes next year. I am filled with enthusiasm and excitement at the thought of picking my classes for my senior year of high school. I will keep you updated on my classes for next year and the importance of choosing the classes that will help you succeed when it comes to college.
Independent is another exceptional word to describe me. I am determined and ambitious. California is where I see myself in the future. One of my top choices for schools is University of California, San Diego, but I will discuss that more in depth in a later post. I am not completely set on what I plan on studying, but I am leaning towards Public Relations and possibly Journalism with a minor in theatre or dance. My biggest goal is to earn a scholarship to California, and I am aware that I must focus and work hard. I hope that on this journey, I can share with you my plans for the future and inspire you to strive to do your best and exceed in school so you can make a smooth transition into college.
It is of utmost importance to buckle down during junior and senior year and give it your all. Embrace volunteer work and community service; get involved in school activities. Research and look into the colleges you want to go to. Be inspired by others to work hard and get a scholarship. My wish is that my experiences can help motivate you to work hard and approach your last years of high school with a positive attitude, ready to conquer the ACT and impress those college admissions officers!
