What are the benefits of using WorkKeys?
WorkKeys enables educators to identify gaps between student skills and employment needs, which will, in turn, improve students' success in entry-level and subsequent jobs.
WorkKeys enables businesses to reduce turnover, overtime, and waste while increasing morale through effective selection decisions and training processes.
Must I use all components of the WorkKeys system?
No. Although the components of the WorkKeys system are designed to work together to provide the best information, any of the components (job profiling, assessments and/or training) may be used independently as well.

Who uses WorkKeys assessments? The WorkKeys system?
Hundreds of thousands of WorkKeys assessments are administered each year to help individuals assess their current skill levels and to determine how improving their skills can lead to better-paying jobs. Students, businesses, and organizations use the WorkKeys tests to improve skill levels and strengthen communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
The WorkKeys job profiling component offers a concrete way for organizations to analyze the skills needed for specific jobs and to describe those needs to educators, students, and job applicants. Job profiling identifies the workplace skills and the WorkKeys skill levels an individual must have to perform successfully. By comparing job profile information with individuals' scores on the WorkKeys tests, organizations can make reliable decisions about hiring, training, and program development. See more information on WorkKeys Job Profiling.
What is job profiling training?
The WorkKeys Job Profiling Training program teaches individuals how to conduct the procedure used to determine the skills and skill levels necessary for job performance. The training program consists of seven weeks of activities: six weeks of distance learning and in the seventh week, a four-day onsite workshop. Complete an application for the training program.
What kinds of jobs are profiled?
WorkKeys is used for white-collar professional jobs as well as jobs in manufacturing, healthcare, law enforcement, and hospitality. More than 14,000 unique job titles, ranging from accountant to automotive technician and from welder to webmaster have been profiled.
How are the occupational profiles used?
The occupational profiles can be used to inform individuals about the typical workplace skills they are likely to need in selected occupations. The occupational profiles may also serve as a starting point for a discussion about standards and/or requirements for entering or exiting a training program. The WorkKeys occupational profiles database is available online.
