Work Tasks
- Plan ads for businesses
- Pick the best way to advertise (TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, brochures, etc.)
- Meet with artists, photographers, and writers to plan ads, and show plans to customers
- Figure costs of ads
- May work in large or small office settings
- Work with budgets, advertising layouts, brochures, computers, and the products being presented
Salary, Size & Growth
- $60,000 average per year ($28.75 per hour)

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree and experience in related work
- Employers Prefer: A degree in advertising or journalism
- Skills/Courses: College courses include marketing, consumer behavior, market research, sales, communications methods and technology, visual arts, and other advertising skills.
