Work Tasks
- Decide what kind of ads are needed and how much money to spend on them
- Work closely with people who design the ads
- Sell ideas to media, stores, banks, and other businesses that advertise
- May travel a great deal
- Work for radio, TV, newspapers and magazines, stores, banks, etc.
- Work with copies of ads, product samples, and surveys, to see if people like the ads and products

- $80,000 average per year ($38.50 per hour)

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree and experience in advertising
- Employers Prefer: A 4-year degree in advertising, journalism, or liberal arts
- Skills/Courses: College courses include marketing, consumer behavior, market research, sales, communications methods and technology, art history, and photography. Computer skills are essential.
