- Fix cars and trucks
- Test-drive cars or use testing equipment to find problems
- Install new parts if needed, or fix old parts
- Service cars to keep them in good shape and prevent future problems
- Work indoors in repair shops and make emergency service calls on the road
- Work with auto parts, hand tools, power tools, grinding machines, welding equipment, and testing equipment
