Work Tasks
- Build walls, houses, fireplaces, and other things with brick, concrete block, and stones
- Read blueprints and decide where things go
- Mix mortar to hold bricks together
- Spread mortar and put bricks in by hand to make sure they look neat and even
- Work outside at construction sites
- Use blueprints, chisels, hammers, mortar, masonry saws, stones and brick, rulers, levels, and other hand tools

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: On-the-job training
- Employers Prefer: A high school diploma, 17 years of age or older, and an apprenticeship in masonry

- Certification/Licensing: Certification is available.
