Work Tasks

• Drive people on buses from one place to another
• Make sure the bus is working well before starting a trip
• Follow time schedules and stop at certain places along the route to pick up and drop off people
• Collect money and tickets, and turn in daily reports
• Work for the government, schools, and bus lines on roads all over the country

Education/Training

• Minimum for Entry: A commercial driver's license, a good driving record, 18 years of age or older, in good health, and pass a written test
• Employers Prefer: A high school diploma and work experience driving
• Skills/Courses: Some employers may require applicants to be 21 or 24 years old.
• Certification/Licensing: A commercial driver's license requires passing written and driving tests.
