Work Tasks

• Keep tables clean, take dirty dishes to kitchen to be washed, and do other things to help servers in restaurants
• Keep service areas filled with napkins, knives, forks, spoons, straws, and other items
• Clean up spills and broken dishes
• Serve rolls, fill glasses with water, and help serve food during busy times
• Work for restaurants, cafeterias, hotel dining rooms, private clubs, bowling alleys, casinos, and other places that serve food
• Work with dishes, glasses, utensils, trays, pitchers, tablecloths, napkins, brooms, cleaning equipment, and other food serving items

• $20,000 average per year ($9.50 per hour)

• Minimum for Entry: On-the-job training
