Work Tasks
- Plan activities for people to do on vacation to ensure their stay in a hotel or on a cruise ship is as nice as possible
- Make sure people are comfortable and safe
- Find out what people are interested in and plan things for them to do based on what they like
- Set up equipment and decorations, make plans for cars or buses, and make shy guests feel at ease
- Work for cruise ship lines, hotels, nursing homes, community centers, clubs, fitness centers, and summer camps
- Work with guest lists, office forms, telephones, bus and boat schedules, caterers, and sports and game equipment

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree in recreation, leisure studies, or hospitality management
- Skills/Courses: A background in business administration is helpful, along with experience in a particular field, such as art, music, drama, or athletics.
