• Direct social service departments which help people with different problems and needs
• Make sure the programs offered are doing well
• Decide where services are needed now and also identify future goals
• Decide what to spend money on to make the program work in the best way
• Work in hospitals, nonprofit organizations, or for the government
• Work with department goals and rules, social service workers, budgets, and yearly reports
