Work Tasks
- Make drawings from rough sketches and details by scientists, engineers, architects, and designers
- Make a detailed view of the object from all sides
- Show what materials to use, the steps to follow, and write directions to do the job
- Use CAD (Computer-Aided Drafting) systems or use compasses, protractors, and other drawing tools to make the drawings
- Work indoors in offices for engineering and architectural firms, the transportation industry, construction firms, utility companies, and the government
- Work with drafting boards, drawings, layouts, pencils, triangles, t-squares, protractors, technical manuals, calculators, computers, and CAD systems
