- Design academic programs, hire and train teachers and school staff, and provide services to students
- Visit teachers and classrooms to watch teaching methods
- Keep school records and decide what to spend money on
- Talk with parents, students, news media, contractors, workers, and others
- Work for schools at all levels of education, child care centers, religious groups, state education offices, and businesses
- Work with teachers, counselors, students, student records, parents, school boards, budgets, educational program guides, etc.
