Work Tasks
- Run EEG (Electroencephalograph) machines which record the activity of the brain and its electrical impulses
- Take patient medical histories and help them to relax
- Put electrodes on certain spots on the patient's head and body and adjust the instrument controls
- Watch for changes in the patient's condition and react to emergencies
- Work indoors for hospitals, clinics, labs, doctors, health care groups, urgent care centers, and other medical services
- Work with EEG and other monitoring instruments, controls, electrodes, and patient appointment records

- $45,500 average per year ($22.00 per hour)

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: On-the-job training
- Employers Prefer: A high school diploma and additional training in a hospital or community college
- Skills/Courses: College courses include health, biology, anatomy, and math.
