Work Tasks
- Make and test electrical and electronic equipment
- Figure out how long engineering projects will take and what they will cost
- Design and run things that use electric power
- Write instructions that explain what equipment should do and how often it should be serviced
- Work in offices, classrooms, labs, or plants where electrical things are made, and for public utilities, engineering firms, and the government
- Work with electrical equipment, lighting, and wiring in buildings, cars, and aircraft; and radar, testing equipment, graphs, drawings, and computers
