- Buy and sell energy, such as gas and electricity, for customers
- Act as agents between energy producers and energy users
- Look at data and decide the best energy supplier
- Decide what type of energy is best for a customer
- Work indoors and outdoors for industrial, commercial, and private customers
- Work with contracts, bids, schedules, proposals, computers, and energy data
