Work Tasks
- Help farmers and homemakers with management problems
- Solve problems, teach people about new products, and how to use machines and equipment
- Help farmers with problems such as rotation of crops, what to feed farm animals, how to use new machines, etc.
- Help homemakers improve their home management and nutrition skills
- Work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture inside in meeting rooms, classrooms, and private homes, and outside helping farmers with special problems
- Work with farm equipment, livestock, plants, books, homemaking supplies, sewing equipment, cooking supplies, and newspaper articles

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree in agriculture, home economics, sociology, or a related field
