Work Tasks
- Run farms for farm owners; hire and manage workers; and maintain farm equipment
- Make farms profitable and suggest ways to improve them
- Decide what to use land for, when to plant and harvest, when to sell harvests, and how to take care of farm animals and plants
- Keep up-to-date with new farming ideas, and government regulations
- Work in offices and outdoors on the farm
- Work with planting, harvesting, and marketing schedules, personnel and financial records, computers, feed, seed, fertilizers, and crop advisors

- $49,000 average per year ($23.50 per hour)

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree in agribusiness or years of experience on a farm
- Skills/Courses: College courses include math, biology, agronomy, dairy science, agricultural economics and business, horticulture, crop and fruit science, animal science, agricultural production, marketing, and economics.
