- Film people, places, and events and create stories about them
- Make motion pictures, present facts and information in films, TV programs, and ads
- Use light, lenses, filters, settings, and other things to set the right mood or tell a story
- May film cartoons or other optical effects for TV and movies
- Work in TV broadcasting or motion picture studios and travel to places to make films
- Use many types of movie cameras, lights, lenses, film, filters, and other movie equipment
