Work Tasks

• Inspect, adjust, and repair wind turbines
• Check electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic functions
• Read drawings, prints, and schematics
• Perform inspections and write reports
• Work outdoors on wind turbines
• Work with wind energy turbines, drawings and schematics, meters and clamps, and electrical testing tools, and safety lines

Education/Training

• Minimum for Entry: A certificate as a wind turbine technician
• Employers Prefer: A 2-year degree in wind turbine technology
• Skills/Courses: Courses in math, hydraulics, electrical power generation, and meteorology; good communication and mechanical skills; must have no fear of heights.
