Work Tasks

• Keep hotels and motels clean
• Make sure that guests have clean sheets and towels and keep soap, tissues, and other things in the rooms
• Make the beds, vacuum, and dust furniture
• May do the hotel laundry and mark linens which need to be mended
• Work indoors in the bedrooms and bathrooms of hotels and motels
• Work with vacuums, brooms, mops, buckets, cleaners, linens, washing machines, dryers, and detergents

• $24,000 average per year ($11.50 per hour)

Education/Training

• Minimum for Entry: On-the-job training
• Employers Prefer: A high school diploma.
