Work Tasks
- Work with employers and employees to get them to understand each others needs
- See that wages are fair, that labor laws are being followed, and that employee benefits are fair
- Prevent and solve arguments between employees and employers
- Tell employers what they can do to keep employees happy
- Work in labor unions, the government, management firms, schools, hospitals, insurance, real estate, and finance firms, banks, and department stores
- Work with contracts, economic and wage data, labor laws, bargaining trends, health care, pensions, and other benefits

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree
- Employers Prefer: A master's degree in human resources or industrial and labor relations and an internship in labor relations
