- Supervise people who work in an office
- Order supplies for the office, pay bills
- Make sure office equipment works correctly and schedule repairs if there is a problem
- Interview and hire new people, train workers, and fire them if necessary
- Work for businesses such as the government, wholesalers, stores, banks, insurance companies, colleges, hospitals, and telephone companies
- Work with mail, forms, budgets, evaluation sheets, time schedules, and office machines
