Work Tasks
- Greet visitors, find out what they need, and refer them to the person who can help
- Answer questions from the public
- Make appointments, answer phones, type, file, open and sort mail, do bookkeeping, and keep records of petty cash
- Call security if someone does not belong in the office
- Work at a desk near the entrance of an office or building for doctors and dentists, nursing homes, hospitals, urgent care centers, surgicenters, clinics, insurance companies, banks, law firms, real estate firms, government agencies, businesses, factories, wholesale and retail stores
- Work with telephones, clerical forms, identification badges, and computers

- $29,500 average per year ($14.25 per hour)

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A high school diploma and on-the-job training
