Work Tasks

• Help engineers plan and build robots and robotics systems
• Program the robot and teach others how to use it
• Test robots and robotics, suggest changes, and fix them if they do not work correctly
• Keep records of robots and make charts and graphs of the data collected
• Work in labs and automated factories for all types of manufacturers, including robot manufacturers
• Work with hand and power tools, computers, robots, sketches, drawings, blueprints, industrial machines, machine tools, and measuring instruments

Education/Training

• Minimum for Entry: A high school diploma and courses in production technology
• Employers Prefer: A 2-year degree in robotics technology
• Skills/Courses: Courses in algebra, trigonometry, science, engineering, and technology.
