- Plan and organize work for volunteers
- Find out what work needs to be done
- Contact schools, churches, and businesses that might need volunteers
- Give training programs for volunteers
- Work in offices, travel to meetings, or help at worksites for non-profit organizations like the Red Cross, and the government, such as the Peace Corps
- Work with volunteers, computers, telephones, schedules and assignments, forms and applications, and records of hours worked

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: A 4-year degree in social work, psychology, or human resources management
- Employers Prefer: A 4-year degree and experience teaching specific occupational skills
- Skills/Courses: College courses include communication, speech, volunteer management, and business and public administration.
- Certification/Licensing: Certification is available.
