Work Tasks
- Keep records of goods coming into or leaving the stock room
- Note missing and damaged goods
- Mark goods with prices or scanning codes
- Put the items on the shelves in the store or warehouse
- Work in stockrooms or on loading docks for warehouses, factories, department and grocery stores, hospitals, schools, the government, and other organizations that keep large amounts of materials and goods on hand
- Work with scanners, marking pencils, labels, order forms, inventory sheets, computers, calculators, and hand trucks to move heavy supplies

- $27,500 average per year ($13.25 per hour)

Education/Training
- Minimum for Entry: On-the-job training
- Employers Prefer: A high school diploma
- Skills/Courses: On-the-job training is usually provided.
- Licensing/Certification: Those who handle jewelry, liquor, or drugs may have to be bonded.
