Work Tasks

• Plan work schedules and manage workers
• Order store items and decide how much things should cost
• Hire and train workers and make sure safety rules are followed
• Deal with customer complaints and keep sales records
• Work indoors for large or small grocery stores or supermarkets
• Work with store products, cash, checks, inventory and order forms, ads, sales items, bookkeeping data, personnel schedules, computers, calculators, cash registers, and government regulations

Education/Training

• Minimum for Entry: A 2-year degree and experience working in a supermarket
• Employers Prefer: A 4-year degree in business administration and experience working in a supermarket
• Skills/Courses: Courses in accounting, administration, marketing, management, sales, psychology, human resource management, sociology, and communication.
